Beacon Converts Your iPhone Into A Universal Remote Control

The Beacon from Griffin will turn your iPhone into a universal remote control. This gadget pairs with the Dijit Universal Remote app, which allows you to control your A/V systems via Dijit’s Programming Guide. This app also allows you to change channels, volume, input, program your PVR, and lots more. The Griffin Beacon will be released in May 2011 for £54.99 ($87).

Nokia will be banking on its flagship N8 to claw back market share in Q4, however the rapidly growing range of available Android smartphones pose a real threat to the telco, according to the report.

HTC saw a strong increase in shipments in Q3, with market share soaring to 8.9% to take third place in the smartphone market, up from fifth place in Q2.
